Bulgarian Archaeologists Find Silver Treasure in Thracian Tomb
A team of Bulgarian archaeologists have discovered a new tomb of an aristocrat from Ancient Thrace near the southern town of Nova Zagora. The team led by archaeologist Veselin Ignatov found a burial tomb of 12 square meters date back to the end of 1st century and beginning of 2nd century AD. Hadrian's amphitheater is one discovery made while building Rome transit line.
For years now, the frustrated citizens of modern Rome have struggled with clogged traffic as they await the construction of a new subway line through the heart of the city, the Metro C. But instead of futuristic tunneling and construction, all they have seen since 2006 are shifting archaeological excavations, cordoned off with "Metro C-Archeological Investigation" banners that pop up monthly in different areas of the city.  More.

Approximately 10 km northwest of Petra, Bir Madhkur lies in the foothills of the esh-Shera mountain range along the eastern border of Wadi Araba (see map).  The most prominent feature at Bir Madhkur is the large fort with four corner towers (quadriburgium), which measures just over 30 × 30 m. Created in 2002 by the Law on Preventive Archaeology, INRAP ensures the detection and study of the archaeological heritage affected by development and infrastructural works. It undertakes the study of these finds, disseminates the research results within the scientific community and contributes to spread the knowledge of archaeology to the general public. More.

Ancient synagogue unearthed in Turkey
